Jim Jones: "T.I.'s swag is fabricated"

Somebody's maaaad..... Jim Jones (also known as "Judas" Jones in some circles) is currently recording a response to "Swagger Like Us" the much loved/hated song featuring Kanye, Jay-Z, Lil' Wayne (who appears on HIS version too...hmm) and T.I.

From Complex:

"Now Jim Jones is taking it one step further. Last week, we were building with the Capo in his studio for some future shit (stay tuned) when he spilled the beans about his own response to the song, a rumor that Miss Info reported on yesterday. He’s currently recording a new joint named “Jackin’ Swagger From Us,” featuring additional verses from Juelz and Lil Wayne, along with a re-recorded hook from M.I.A. and a new beat by Chink Santana."

Jones on T.I:

"Complex: What about T.I?

Jim Jones: I don’t feel like he possesses any swag. Not like that. It’s fabricated. They’re watching other people, then they try and do it. You know people that dress like T.I.? You know people that go out and say let me get a T.I. outfit or do you know people who say “yo, you’re looking like Jim Jones?” Which one? Lemme hear it! When the bitches want to fuck you and the niggas want be like you, who got the swag? Niggas with money and fame always going to look like they doing something ’cause they got the camera in front of them. But the cool dudes always stick out no matter where they at."

T.I. Is Mad

I mean, shit like this happens, even though this vid screams "Public Relations", im sure that Paper Trail will be fine. Especially seeing as though "Whatever You Like" did so well in its first few weeks of release. Rappers and record companies have the wrong idea about how blogs and the internet in general work. There's a shaky (read: im talking Michael J. Fox here) relationship between the internet and music in general. Rappers are starting social websites and youtube channels and forgetting that the key of internet culture is that it is a COUNTER culture in the end. It's all well and good that you give away free music, but in the end dont think you are smarter than the average blogger! Just because you send out lowly interns and street teams to spam sohh.com and nahright comments and forums doesnt mean that you "understand" or that they will stop going to their local newsgroup to download your (likely) shitty album. Spam is spam, niggas will ignore it and do what they want.
